Amanda Lane specializes in 19th century print techniques and Photo Encaustic . Photo Encaustic is an archival method that involves the application of layers of beeswax and damar resin upon a substrate such as a wooden panel. Upon the panel, one can apply photographs, layers of wax, pigments, paints, inks, thin papers, encaustic paint, and image transfers.
Cyanotype is one of the first photographic mediums where an image was captured using light sensitive emulsion. Using glass plates or photograms where objects were placed on the coated papers, this technique was invented in 1842.
